General Order #12

"Camp 43 Charter Draped"

“Camp 43 Charter Draped”

Brothers,
It is will deep regret that, I announce the passing of Real Daughter Cora Lee Jackson a resident of Washington DC and active supporter of the Lincoln-Cushing Camp #2. Cora lee Jackson was born on 20 June 1919 and was the 14th child of Pvt. Alonzo Johnson. Pvt. Johnson was a member of Company F 45h Regiment Infantry USCT a unit, which was part of the 25th Corps. Pvt. Johnson saw service in the final Campaigns of the Civil War and was present at Appomattox Court House on 9 April 1865.
The passing of Cora Lee Jackson is one more reminder that we are losing the last living links to the men of the Civil War; she leaves a legacy of commitment that will be carried into the future by her nephew our SUVCW Brother Ricardo Johnson.
It is ordered that the National Web site, the Charters of all Departments and Camps and membership badges be draped in black for a period of 30 days from the date of this General Order.
Ordered this 16th Day of February 2014.
